Yay!

I finally got my Longchamp in the mail! Well, not finally, it's only been a week since I first ordered it.
It's beautiful. The colour bilberry is a deep almost midnight purple. I can't wait to start using it.

As well, this has been out for a while now but if you haven't checked it out you should!
There's a great deal going on now at Sephora for Benefit's Legally Bronze kit.
I bought it almost a month ago but it's still available for $35 U.S. or $42 CAD.
But hold on, that might sound like a lot of money put if you're itching to try some Benefit products, now's the perfect time.
In the kit are four full size products. Let me repeat FOUR FULL SIZE PRODUCTS!
It includes they're best-seller Hoola Bronzer (matte medium colour), High Beam (Shimmery champagne highlight liquid), BadGal Brown mascara (lengthening mascara) and Gilded Eye Pencil (shimmery gold cream pencil). All these products except for Gilded are available separately. Oh, and you get all these products in a fun, large makeup bag.
To give you guys an idea of the deal you're getting, Hoola Bronzer itself retails already for $36 CAD. Do the math.
All four products are perfect for summer, a healthy bronzed look!

Hurry before it's too late!

Update #1

Hey guys! Its been a while but not really. I guess in internet time its been eons.
Lately I've kind of been running low on ideas. Well, no I have lots of ideas but I'm not sure where to begin.
I could always do the usual of hauls, reviews, want lists, maybe even a makeup collection if I can find out how to use my camera. Any suggestions would be great on this!

Also, I'm waiting still on my Longchamp. It hasn't been a while yet but today I checked on the tracking number and it says that it arrived in Canada today! So hopefully tomorrow it will be waiting on my doorstep. Crossing my fingers**. When that arrives and I get a chance to use it and play around with it I'll do a review, like I promised earlier.

Otherwise, this week is gonna be hectic! In terms of school work/tests/projects. Can't wait for this week to end and for Easter long weekend to start!
A place that a friend and I want to go reallllll bad is the Holt Renfrew Last Call at Vaughan Mills. They have some awesome designer deals there, and God knows I'm a sucker for discount designer. Right now, I'm really itching for a nice tall pair of thick heels with thick straps. We'll see what will happen or if even we have a chance to go.

One thing I've been really surprised at and liking is my first liquid eyeliner I got by NYC. It was only $1 so I was thinking what the heck! I thought it would be really terrible and messy but I'm slowly getting the hang of it. But it takes FOREVER to dry, looking so stupid in front of the mirror fanning one of my closed eyes. Haha ridiculous! Wow, I think that might've turned into a mini-review.

Anyways, that was a little peek inside my head. Hope you enjoyed!

Raid your mama's (papa's) closet!

Today I was feeling bored, even though I needed to do a lot of studying, so I decided to semi-raid my mom's closet. Note how I said semi-raid, I have at least 2/3 more to go through to make a complete raid.

I was really surprised at some of the pieces I found and it was interesting how these fashions that dated back to around the 80s are now "in" again today. I had a flash back to a couple years ago where my mom would pull out pieces that she no longer wore and I'd always exclaim, "did you really wear that? those shoulder puffs!"
Nowadays, style icons such as Lady Gaga and Rihanna are wearing shoulder pads that normally would be fit for a football player. (sorry for poor descriptions)

I don't have a camera with me at the moment to take a picture of the pieces I found but they can be described as a cropped light washed jean jacket by Calvin Klein, a yellow jacket with black detailing and embroidery and shoulder pads and a mustard-yellow/beige light blazer. Items like this can now be found all over the runway by Marcella Priani.

Now, I will attempt to find pictures of similar clothing to give you guys a visual idea of what I'm talking about.

But of course not as dramatic

Almost identical to the one I have

Sorry, can't find any pictures similar to the yellow jacket!

Now all I have to say is: go raid your mama (papa's) closet to find some great pieces!

Newbie

Today I got some great advice from a friend *winkwink* who checked out my blog.
She didn't want her name posted so I think I'm going to call her. . . .Joanne.

So Joanne told me that I should loosen up over here and to broaden the subjects that I mention. It's true, I'm obsessed over makeup but that can get a little redundant after a while. From now on, I'll try to reach at topics that everyone can enjoy, but my foundation (haha) will still be makeup.

Already, I have some updates and edits for my previous post, Want List #1. I gave in and purchased my first Longchamp Le Pliage bag from Magnums.net
I ended up getting the large Shopping Tote in the colour Bilberry.
Insert picture here:

BTW, before I go on I just want to mention that I was not sponsored by Magnums.net. I just found this site to be very reliable and authentic.

Earlier I tried looking up reviews for this bag but I wasn't able to come across any good, thorough reviews of this bag. So, after my bag arrives and I have a chance to try it out, I'll do a review on it.

Another update is that I've been eying to buy a Mac Mineralised Skinfinish, but I'm not sure which would be good. I've heard good reviews on Soft and Gentle, and Gold Deposit. If any of you know of any popular or favourited Skinfinishes let me know!

That's all I have to say for now. If there are any products that you'd like me to review or just give my brief opinion on, tell me.

Want List #1

This will be the first of my series of the things I currently want. It may go outside of the beauty spectrum =) Not in any particular order. Also, this is my first time inserting pictures, hopefully it works.

1. Mac Lipstick in Viva Glam V

2. Crest Advanced Whitening Strips - Teeth aren't white, nuff said

3. NARS Orgasm Blush - Great everyday, every skin tone blush

4. Maybelline Full n' Soft- Although I already have too many mascaras, but heard good stuff about this one

5. Mac Face and Body Foundation- Expensive, but will last a long time - don't usually wear foundations, but this one is very light and nice finish

6. Urban Decay Primer Potion in Sin- Must-have for eyeshadow wearers, like the shimmer

7. Eyeshadow and Blending Brush - Not sure from which brand yet, maybe Yves Rocher

8. Longchamp Le Pliage Med/Lar - Everyone has it, but still love it for versatility and ease, not sure the colour yet (Navy looks nice)

That's all for now!

Reality Check

I've known about this website for a while now but I wanted to share it with people.
It's this website where you can search up makeup, hair and just beauty in general products to find the safety rating on it.

Here's the link: http://www.cosmeticsdatabase.com

It's a good idea to have some kind of knowledge and background about the things we put on our face, body, nails etc. and how safe they actually are about it.
Basically, they rate products from 0-10, 0 being practically harmless and 10 being super hazardous.
They talk about specific ingredients present in the product that is harmful and the effects it can have, i.e. irritation, cancer (yikes!).

The website also contains tips and tricks that can be useful when shopping for new things.

I found some pretty surprising things such as some of NARS products, which I love, have some of the highest danger ratings. A bummer since their products are pricey, you'd think they'd have cosmetics that are better for the skin. However, it's no surprise that on average, most of the well-known drugstore brands such as Revlon, Rimmel, L'Oreal make some of the highest scores.

Overall, it's kind of nice to become more informed about all these things that we put on our body in an effort to make it look nicer when in fact, the long term effects might not be worth it. Other than that, I do think I'll completely shy away from beauty products.

Check out the link if you're interested!

Find of the Day

I was having trouble coming up with a second post idea.
However, I recently came across a great deal so I thought I would share.

I went to my local Urban Outfitters the other day with some friends. I was wandering around when I came across an eyeshadow palette by the company Kimchi Blue. It was pretty cute packaging, containing four different colours, an olive shimmer which they call Sterling, a matte light green Emerald, a midnight blue shimmer Mulberry and a great dupe colour for Stila's Kitten, which I also have called Lace. All these colours where each one is the size of a Mac eyeshadow for. . . $1.99!

I'm not sure if it was a mistake but when I was there there were plenty left. If you're interested, go check it out!

The original retail price was $18. In terms of quality, it is okay. Not the best but definitely usable. Probably a little better than drugstore pigmentation. The only colour I'm not too sure about is the Emerald one, it's chalky and a colour I don't reach for a lot.

By now, you probably realized that I spell colour with an r, well that's because I'm Canadian.

Anyways, this palette is an awesome deal, especially at this price. Even if you're just looking for a cheaper alternative to the cult-fave Stila's Kitten eyeshadow, this is a must. Because in my opinion, the Lace colour is an EXACT dupe, I've never seen a closer match. This will be a great palette to take when I'm travelling.

I tried to find a picture of the palette to show but it has been since taken off the Urban Outfitter's website. I found a similar palette made by the same company, but of course, not the same thing.
Link is here: http://tiny.cc/yBMCX

In the future, I'll try to figure out how to post pictures to the posts as well.
Hope you enjoyed this find of the day.

In the beginning

Ever since I can remember I've been sneaking away from my mom at the drugstore or department store to take a peek in the makeup aisle. Which I always found funny, since I thought of myself as a tomboy.

It was not until last year when I started to do something about my inner addiction. It all started when I found you tube and blogs such as these where people professed their love over cosmetics and such. From then on, I wanted to learn more and more and also wanted to share my thoughts and opinions as well. My wallet has also become much lighter as well. Ha.

Hi, I'm lyndaloolaaley. Nice to meet you.

My goals for this blog is mostly beauty related, but don't be surprised if you see random posts of other things as well that might've caught my eye. I plan on doing reviews of products that I love, hate or just think is okay, products that have caught my eye. . .or not.

But, this isn't just about me. I would love to hear back from you guys on anything! Suggestions for improvements, comments, ideas for future posts, etc.

This is the beginning of an adventure and I hope you'll join me. After all, this IS where makeup geeks come out to play. . .
